Adobe Photoshop CS4: Erasing backgrounds, the pen tool and paths

Watch the HD version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeZw1aksnJk&hd=1

Here is a simple tutorial on erasing backgrounds of a photo and putting another photo behind it. I didn’t plan to do this tutorial, I just opened up Photoshop and pasted in a few royalty free photographs (ignore the Istockphoto text lol).

If you have any questions do ask and please thank camo999999999 for requesting this tutorial.

Mike, leave then pen tool for a week or two. Don’t try and create anything that makes sense……….yet.

Go through all the tools and see what they do. Flick through all the menus and see what each thing does. Then think of different ways you could use each tool to make a photo better. Its hard, I know, but keep at it.

Probably, but again, don’t worry. At the start all I could do was coloured squiggles and smudge them in a certain direction. Its all good art.

You’ll learn over time. I have been using Photoshop for over a year now, so don’t expect to be able to do it as good as me yet :)
